I honestly don’t know if I shall ever love again
Oh ~ it doesn’t sadden me.
No longer, do I seek love nor pray for it to come.
And perhaps ~ this is good.
You see ~ If real love manifests itself
If it stands in front of my shoes and stands on my toes
If it declares, “I’m Love, and I am the one.”
Then, I will look at it in a new light.
I shall scrutinize the words
And shall put the actions to a test
Then ~ and only then ~
If it stands, it remains, and even if, its burnt to a crisp
I will know and say ~
“Yes, you are my love.”

Beautiful poem – I remember how important it once seemed. Maybe now, I’m more conscious of the love already in my life, plus better ways to love myself.

I agree. Gotta love yourself before you can love anything else
